We are happy to announce that we are running a 60% off sale for ShellHistory and OpenIn in the Loshadki Store and on App Store.
Use code C3MZGWOA
to get a discount on OpenIn and ShellHistory applications on the Loshadki Store. The code is valid until
the end of January 2025.
Ah yes, and we have a store now. You can purchase OpenIn and ShellHistory applications directly from the store, and get the latest updates. We made both OpenIn and ShellHistory available for macOS to be downloadable directly from our website. You can download a free trial version of the applications and decide to purchase the license from our store instead of purchasing and downloading the versions from App Store.
Difference between ShellHistory Mac App Store and Web version
Purchase of the App Store version includes iOS and iPadOS versions. Otherwise, they are identical by the functionality. The Web version has automatic updates included (built with Sparkle), so you don’t need to check for updates manually. And it has the same set of features as the App Store version.
Free trial allows you to use the application for free for as long as you want with some limitations. You will see a trial notification in the application, but you can use it without any restrictions.
And yes, both versions are updated to ShellHistory 3.0.
Difference between OpenIn Mac App Store and Web version
OpenIn Web version is not sandboxed, similar to a Setapp version. Which means you don’t need OpenIn Helper to be installed. It also allows you to use it in a trial mode as long as you want. The trial version does not allow hiding app selection dialog, and it will show that OpenIn is in Trial mode.
The App Store version is sandboxed, and you need to install OpenIn Helper to use it. Nothing changed there.
If I have a license for the App Store version, can I use it in the Web version?
Nope. If you want to migrate from the App Store version to the Web version, you need to purchase a new license. Similarly, if you have purchased a license for the Web version, you can’t use it in the App Store version.
This is why we are giving you a 60% discount on both applications right now. So you can make a decision. We aren’t greedy, but I just don’t see an easy way to transfer licenses between the App Store and Web versions, which is straightforward to implement.
Does it mean that you are leaving the App Store?
Nope. We are not leaving the App Store. We are just giving you an option to purchase the license directly from us. Once in a while, I have seen mentioning that people just cannot purchase the application from the App Store because of corporate policies or other reasons.
